Tweet Things

If you have not visited Mrs. Kwitty's blog and Etsy shop, run on over and have a peek! Karen is delightfully creative and has the cutest things for sale. I purchased this adorable little birdy business card wallet from her shop. I needed to have something nice to carry my cards in because I kept losing them in my purse, only to find them a little mangled when I needed to give one out (yeah, that's embarrasing!) Now I'm organized AND fashionable! Yes, it matches the felted purse Heidi made for me! :)

Spring Fling Goodness

Yesterday, I received my Pink & Green Spring Fling Swap goodies from my swap partner, Heidi! As you can see, she made me one of her felted sweater bags and it is SWEET!

S: Stitched table runner (& a paper tablecloth)
P: Purse (handmade from thrifted/felted sweater)
R: Ribbon (with cute spring motif)
I: Interesting apron made from a towel
N: Nice storage containers
G: Gum ( in pink & green, no less)

Thank you for all my wonderful goodies, Heidi! I cannot wait to use my new is way too cute!

Nancy Needs...

I laughed so hard at Lucy's post that I had to try this for myself. If you want to play, Google your name and the word needs in quotes to see what pops up!

Nancy needs some vino. (That goes without saying!!!)
Nancy needs to wake up. (Call me when the coffee's ready, but not before 9 a.m.)
Nancy needs a boob job. ( thanks.)
Nancy's dreams of a courthouse turning into an ATM machine tells me she needs professional help. (what the.... my bank job must be making me bonkers.)
Nancy needs protection from Liberals. (Don't get me really don't want me to get on my soapbox.)
All Nancy needs is a peanut butter sandwich, a box of crayons, and some paper to be happy. (Right on!)
Nancy needs your help, you can donate by check or credit card. (Cash or PayPal also accepted!)
All Nancy needs is to wolf down a three-thousand calorie dessert and bring the silver spoon back to Miles. (Did someone say cheesecake?)
Nancy needs more of those Howard Stern prank calls to get her some good exposure. (As if I'm on American Idol or something...)
Queen Nancy needs her own personal Boeing 757 kept on standby with 16 dedicated Air Force personnel to cater to her every whim. (It's good to be the Queen!)
Nancy needs saving by George Clooney and wants to listen to Schubert. (Now we're talkin'!!!)
Nancy needs to file a squadron commander’s report. (Wait, I thought that's what the Air Force personnel were for.)
Nancy needs to be in national office and we need to help put her in the US Congress. (Yep, but I don't know that the country is quite ready yet for me!!! I'd straighten out their PC butts in a New York minute :)

We are Siamese, if you please...

Although I consider myself thrift & vintage challenged, I have to admit that if I saw these 2 lovelies in a store they would definitely have to come home with me!

This Shafford salt & pepper shaker set (guessing circa mid-1950s) belonged to my grandmother at one point in time. She gave them to my mother who had stashed them away in her hope chest. I received them when Mom gave me her hope chest and all its contents about 17 years ago.

Aren't they just too cute for words?

Happy Easter!

Peace Be With You...

The Bird Cage

I really need to post more often...I've been meaning to share this creation from my last floral design class for almost 2 weeks. The class is over now :( It was an enormous amount of fun and more inspiring than I imagined it would be!

I have had this birdcage hanging about for over a year and figured if I was going to make an arrangement in it that I'd better do it while I still had an instructor to pester should it all go horribly wrong! And yes, it's a crazy mish-mash of many elements. Again, I wish my pictures were better.

In other news, I delivered 2 commissioned arrangements this week which was very exciting for me! Both customers seemed very pleased and one asked for business cards to give to her friends who she was sure would want new arrangements of their own!!!

I probably worry too much when making commissioned pieces...there's always the fear that the customer will hate the arrangement. It hasn't happened yet, thankfully, probably because I ask A LOT of questions up front to make sure I understand what they are looking for. Still, you never know....

I joined the Spring Fling Swap hosted by Rebecca & Lucy at Sweet Goodness Swaps and just found out that my swap friend is Heidi. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you should!
I confess that I have lurked on her blog many times in the past and am delighted she is my swap buddy! Lucy has a sense of humor to pair a knitiot (that would be me) with the Spiritual Knitter herself...oh, the irony! Heidi, rest assured that I won't knit anything for this juncture whatever I attempt to make turns out looking like mangled kitty toys :) But, I'm learning!
